마르타 메사로시 감독의 자전적 일기 4부작 중 세 번째 작품으로, <내 어린 날의 일기>와 <내 사랑의 일기>에 이은 세 번째 영화입니다. 이 감동적인 작품은 어린 고아인 율리가 전후 헝가리의 격동기를 헤쳐 나가는 여정을 다룹니다. 1956년 헝가리 혁명 실패 이후를 배경으로, 모스크바 영화학교를 졸업하고 부다페스트로 돌아온 율리가 소련군의 권력 장악이 강화되는 가운데 잔인함, 공포, 불안이 가득한 폐허 속 세상을 마주하게 되는 과정을 그립니다.

The third installment of Márta Mészáros's autobiographical diary Tetralogy, following Diary for My Children and Diary for My Loves, this moving film tells the story of Juli, a young orphan navigating the turbulent post-war period in Hungary. Set against the backdrop of the aftermath of the failed 1956 Hungarian Revolution, the film follows Juli as she returns to Budapest after graduating from the Moscow Film School, only to find a world devastated by the increasing control of Soviet forces. As brutality, fear, and uncertainty permeate every aspect of life, Juli confronts the harsh realities of a broken society.

Mészáros weaves a poignant human drama, bearing witness to the horrors of totalitarian oppression and the courage of those who resist it. Based on her own experiences, she presents a historical narrative in a personal and intimate portrait.
