  학교가 문을 닫는다면 무슨 일이 생길까? 토르빈과 틸드는 바닷가 옆 작은 학교 3학년 학생이다. 학교가 곧 폐교될 예정이라 옆 마을 큰 학교로 전학 가야 한다. 폐교 생각에 복통에 시달리는 틸드, 장난감 부엌에 무슨 일이 생길까 걱정하는 토르빈. 이 영화는 아이들의 순수한 눈으로 자본이 집중화되는 오늘날의 모습을 그린다.

  Thorvin and Tilde are 3rd graders at a small school by the sea, but now the school will be closed down and they have to attend a larger school in the nearest town. Tilde gets a tummy ache when she thinks of the closure and Thorvin wonders what will happen to the toy kitchen.   8월의 여름 오후, 한 가족이 삼촌 보타오를 추모하기 위해 모인다. 보타오는 포르투갈 식민전쟁 때 프랑스로 이민 와 30년간 청소부로 살았다. 힘든 삶을 살았던 보타오에 대한 기억들이 웃음과 판타지가 섞이며 교차된다. 그 순간 보타오는 벨몬테로 돌아가고 쓰레기로 가득했던 트럭은 진짜 보물로 바뀐다.

  
  

   

  
  

  On a hot August afternoon, the family gathered at the table remembers uncle Botão: the Colonial War, emigration to France, where he lived and worked thirty years as a garbage man.   Eun-yu, a captain of her high school library club, lost a book in which she kept the donation money. Shortly after, Baek-ji, one of the members of the club, returns the book but the money is gone. Coincidentally, as Eun-yu witnessed Baek-ji shoplifting at a supermarket, Eun-yu's suspicion on Baek-ji begins to grow.
