  안정된 직장을 다니며 둘만의 보금자리에서 함께 생활하는 30대 커플, 샘과 제이미. 어느 일요일 아침, 이들은 두 사람이 만난 해에 주워왔던 오래 된 소파를 버리기로 한다. 집 밖으로 소파를 빼내는 순간 밖으로 스스로를 가두고 마는 두 사람. 돈도 없고 핸드폰도 없이 아파트의 공동 계단에 발이 묶인 그들은 문제를 해결 해줄 누군가가 나타나기를 하염없이 기다리며 시간을 죽인다. 카드놀이를 하고, 맥주와 샌드위치를 주문해 먹고, 위아래층을 오가는 이웃들에게 몸을 한껏 구기며 길을 터주는 동안 이들의 대화는 끊임없이 이어진다. 어디로든 갈 수 있지만 당장 머물 곳은 소파뿐인 상황에 이르러서야 이들은 서로에 대해, 서로 공유하고 있는 삶에 대해 진정으로 돌아 볼 기회를 갖게 된다.

  Sam and Jamie, a couple in their 30s who have stable jobs and live together in their own home. One Sunday morning, they decide to throw away the old couch they picked up the year they met. As soon as they pull the sofa out of the house, they lock themselves outside. Stranded on the communal staircase of their apartment building with no money and no cell phones, they kill time waiting anxiously for someone to show up to solve their problems. Their conversation goes on and on as they play cards, order beers and sandwiches, and crumple their bodies to clear the way to neighbors who walk upstairs and downstairs. They can go anywhere, but only when the sofa is the only place to stay right away, they have a chance to truly reflect on each other and the life they share.

  직장에서 승진을 앞둔 사비나는 기쁜 마음으로 파트너를 만난다. 하지만 그에게 축하받을 수 있어도 당장의 미래는 약속할 수 없음을 확인한다. 그날 밤, 누군가에게 쫓기며 우연히 자신이 탄 택시 안으로 도망쳐 들어 온 안카를 만나게 되고, 푸른색 머리에 자유분방한 기세로 마이크 없이 목청 높여 노래를 부르는 그녀에게 이끌리는 사비나. 임신중지 수술비를 구하는 안카에게 호의를 베풀며, 마치 자신이 꾸는 꿈인 듯 그녀가 계속 노래할 수 있기를 바란다. 영화는 극과 극에 있는 두 여성이 우연한 계기로 만나 시작된 한밤중의 동행을 비밀스럽게 담아내고 있다. 난데없이 앞을 가로막고 나타난 안카라는 인물에게 경계심과 호기심을 동시에 품은 채 속내를 보이지 않으려는 사비나를 연기한 배우의 얼굴이 인물의 완성도를 끌어올리며 극을 내내 이끌어나간다.

  Sabina, who is about to get a promotion at work, happily meets her partner. However, she realizes that she can't promise an immediate future with him even if she can be congratulated by him. That night, Sabina meets Anka, who accidentally runs away into her taxi while being chased by someone, and Sabina is drawn to her as she sings loudly without a microphone with blue hair and free spirits. She does Anka a favor as she seeks money for an abortion, and hopes that she can continue to sing as if it were her dream. The film secretly captures the midnight accompaniment that began when the two women at opposite ends met by chance. The face of the actress who plays Sabina, who is wary and curious at the same time about the character Anka, who suddenly appeared in front of her, and tries not to show her inner thoughts to her, leads the play throughout the film, elevating the perfection of the character.

  당장 당신의 눈앞에 사랑을 고백하고픈 누군가 있다고 가정해보자. 당신은 상대에게 연모의 마음을 가득 담은 수려한 말을 늘어뜨릴 수도, 보다 직접적인 몸짓을 해보일 수도 있다. 혹은 상대를 가만히 바라보며 그의 모습을 찬찬히 눈에 담을 수도 있을 것이다. 그리고 지금, 오스카의 면전에 루카스가 있다. 오스카는 루카스에게 적극적인 행동은커녕 번번한 말조차 건네지 못하고 끙끙 앓는다. 심지어 그는 루카스를 자신의 맨 눈으로 온전히 쳐다보지 못한다. 오스카는 자신의 캠코더로 루카스를 촬영하고, 자글거리는 캠코더 화면 속의 루카스와 대화할 뿐이다. 어떤 대상을 녹화하고 영화로 만드는 것. 한편으론 자신이 애정하는 대상에 거리를 두고 주저하는 듯한 이 행위가 도대체 무슨 소용이 있을까 싶기도 하다. 그래도 오스카는 캠코더를 놓지 않을 것처럼 보인다. 한 소년의 어설픈 진심을 내비치며 다소간 엉성하고 낯간지런 극의 흐름을 상쇄시키려 노력하는 영화다.

  Let's say there's someone in front of you who you want to confess your love to. You can give the other person beautiful words that are full of love, or you can make a more direct gesture. Or you can stare at that person and take in his or her reflection. And now, Lucas is in front of Oscar. Oscar groan inwardly, unable to even say a word to Lucas, let alone grand gestures. He can't even look at Lucas fully with his naked eyes. Oscar filmes Lucas on his camcorder and talks to Lucas on the screen of his flickering camcorder. Recording an object and turning it into a movie. We might wonder what is the use of this act of distancing oneself from the object of one's affection. Still, it looks like Oscar won't let go of his camcorder. It is a film that shows the clumsy sincerity of a boy and tries to offset the flow of the play, which is more or less sloppy and cringy.

  60여 년 전, 아버지는 부모님을 따라 가오슝으로 가는 기차를 탔다. 그것이 편도라는 것을 알지 못했고 이후 그는 류허 야시장에서 자랐다. 일본여행 가이드가 된 그는 수많은 가족들의 여행에 동행했다. 우리가 함께 보낸 가장 완벽한 시간은 친밀함을 높이기 위해 아버지의 일행과 함께 하는 것이었다. 전염병으로 그의 일은 멈췄다. 과거가 관광을 얹은 일종의 풍경이라면, 이 영화는 그 자신의 여행이다.

  
  

   

  
  

  More than 60 years ago, my father followed his parents and took the train to Kaohsiung. Little did he know it was a one way trip and grew up in Liuhe Night Market eversince. Then he became a Japanese tour guide, traveling around and accompanying countless families. The most complete time we spent together was to go out with my father's group - a way to improve intimacy.   한 가족이 여행길에 오른다. 그들과 동행하면서 가족의 탄생 이후의 시간에 흩뿌려진 기억을 함께 뒤밟아간다. 곧이어 스크린에 펼쳐지는 기억들은 나 자신의 것과 뒤섞인다. 아마 영화가 시작하자마자 많은 사람들이 닮은 듯 조금씩 다른 기억 속으로 각자의 여행을 떠날 지도 모르겠다. 이렇듯 극장에 앉아 있음과 동시에 어디로든 현재가 아닌 어떤 순간, 어떤 장면 속으로 우리를 데려가는 영화를 만날 때면 기꺼운 마음으로 그 바람에 몸을 맡기고 싶어진다. 살아가면서 공들여 과거를 제대로 마주하고 싶어지는 혹은 마주해야만 할 것 같은 때가 한 번쯤은 찾아온다. 그 과정을 통과하는 동안 우리는 변하는 것과 변하지 않는 것이 무엇인지 자연스럽게 알게 된다. 더불어 기억하는 행위, 기록하는 행위가 갖는 강력한 힘을 느끼게 된다.

  A family embarks on a journey. As we accompany them, we walk through the memories scattered in the time since the birth of the family. Soon after, the memories that unfold on the screen are mixed up with my own. Perhaps, as soon as the movie begins, many people will go on their own journey into slightly different memories which may look alike. In this way, when we sit in a theater and at the same time encounter a film that takes us to a certain moment and a scene instead of the present, we are willing to give ourselves over to that wind. There comes a time in our lives when we want to face the past properly, or feel like we have to face it. As we go through the process, we naturally learn what changes and what doesn't. In addition, we feel the strong power of the act of remembering and recording.
