  집을 사기 위해 아버지와 아들은 부지런히 살아간다. 하지만 80년대 말 대만 경제는 빠르게 변화했고, 물정을 모르는 이들은 현실의 벽에 부딪히게 된다. 이들 앞에 늙은 여우라고 불리는 집주인이 나타나 세상을 가르쳐 준다. 그러나, 그것은 소년에게 칼자루를 쥐여준 꼴이 된다. 소년은 여우에게 배운 방법으로 여우를 무너뜨리고, 통쾌하기보다는 세속적이면서도 인간적인, 시대와 아이러니의 초상이 그려진다.

   

  A father and a son work hard to buy a house. However, the Taiwanese economy in the 80s had transformed rapidly and they had to face harsh reality because they did not know the way the world worked. One day, their landlord, called as “Old Fox”, comes before them and teaches them how to survive in the changing world. But it turns out that his teaching works as the boy’s sword toward pointing at himself. The boy destroys Old Fox exactly as what he was taught. This movie ironically portrays the time in a secular, not gratifying, but humane way.
